South Africa thrash West Indies in 1st T20I: Aiden Markram’s powerful half-century helped South Africa defeat West Indies by 9 wickets. With this victory, South Africa took a 1-0 lead in the series. Markram remained unbeaten for South Africa, scoring 86 runs off 47 balls. Ryan Rickelton also played a strong innings for the team.

New Delhi: South Africa has made a spectacular start in the three-match T20 series against the West Indies. South Africa defeated the West Indies by 9 wickets in the first T20 match played at Boland Park. Batting first, the West Indies scored 173 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, but South Africa’s captain Aiden Markram, Luhan de Pretorius, and Ryan Rickelton made this score look small with their explosive batting. South Africa achieved the target of 174 runs with 1 wicket to spare with 13 balls to spare.

Captain Markram batted brilliantly in this match against South Africa. Markram decimated the West Indies bowlers, scoring an unbeaten 86 off 47 balls. Markram also hit nine fours and three sixes in his innings. Ryan Rickelton also remained unbeaten on 40 off 32 balls, hitting two sixes and one four. Pretorius, the only batsman to be dismissed, scored 44 off 28 balls, including six fours and one six.

Caribbean batsmen flopped in the first T20West Indies batsmen failed miserably in the first T20I against South Africa. Although they got off to a brisk start, the South African bowlers quickly tightened their grip. Shimron Hetmyer top-scored for the West Indies with a 32-ball 48, including four fours and three sixes.
